Online Learning

Online learning has become common in recent years. It brings both advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, it is very convenient. We can watch teaching videos anytime at home and review lessons repeatedly. It also saves time on the way to tutoring classes. On the other hand, long screen time hurts our eyes. Some students cannot control themselves and play games during classes. To make good use of online study, we need strong self-discipline. We should set fixed study time and take breaks every forty minutes. If we use it properly, online learning will be a helpful tool for our study progress.

Volunteer Activity

Last month, I took part in a volunteer activity in the city park. We picked up rubbish and planted young trees. We also handed out leaflets to tell visitors to protect the environment. Some strangers thanked us warmly. When I worked, I felt great joy inside. Volunteer work teaches us to care for public places and help society. It lets me understand that giving brings more happiness than receiving. I decide to take part in volunteer activities once a month from now on.

My Favorite Teacher

Miss Wang is my English teacher and my favorite teacher. She is gentle and patient in class. Her classes are lively and interesting. She uses games and stories to make us understand knowledge easily. When I make mistakes in speaking, she never laughs at me. She often stays after class to help poor students. She tells us to keep confident and never stop trying. She cares about not only our grades but also our feelings. I respect her very much and want to be a person like her in the future.

Students Should Do Housework

I firmly believe students should do proper housework in free time. Some parents think study is kids’ only task, but I hold different ideas. Doing housework helps us master basic life skills such as washing clothes and cleaning rooms. It also reduces parents’ tiredness after busy work. When we tidy our own bedroom, we learn to take responsibility. Besides, simple housework is a good way to relax after heavy school lessons. I fold my clothes and sweep floors every day. Housework makes me independent and understand my parents’ hard work better.

My Bedroom

I have a comfortable and tidy bedroom. It is not too big, but I like it very much. There is a big bed next to the window. Near the bed stands my desk. I do my homework and read books on it every day. On the desk, there are my textbooks, pens and a cute lamp. A bookshelf is beside the desk. It is full of different kinds of books. I also put some lovely toys on my bed. I clean my bedroom every morning to keep it tidy. This small room is my own little world. I always feel relaxed and happy staying here.

Helping Parents with Housework

It is necessary for students to help parents do housework in free time. Parents are tired after busy work every day, so our help reduces their burden. Simple work like cleaning rooms, folding clothes or washing bowls is easy to learn. Doing housework teaches us responsibility and life skills. I help with housework every Sunday and understand parents’ hard work more than before.

My Favorite Book

Journey to the West is my favorite traditional Chinese book. It tells a wonderful story about four travellers’ hard journey to get sacred books. The brave Monkey King is my favourite character; he fights bad monsters and protects his partners bravely. From the story, I learn that success never comes easily. No matter how many hardships we face, we should hold on to our dreams. I have read this book three times and still find new meaningful ideas every time I read it.
